Toshiba Satellite L755 Review

Today we’re bringing you a review of Toshiba’s hottest new laptop the Satellite L755-S5349.

Toshiba is a company located in Tokyo, Japan that specializes in all aspects of technology, from laptops to semi-conductors. They are the fifth largest computer manufacturer in the world and for good reason. Their Satellite line of laptops have continually proven to be reliable best sellers among American audiences. The Toshiba brand name has become a trusted go to source for personal computing.

They look to continue their tradition with the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5349, which has quickly became a best seller this year and for good reason. The Satellite L755 sports a 15.6″ HD screen that is specifically designed for studying, movies, music, and gaming. A perfect all around display that excelled in all test we threw at it. To ensure a flawless performance Toshiba powers their outstanding display with an Intel HD graphics card. A market standard.

Along with the a powerful graphics card the Toshiba Satellite L755 is powered by an Intel Core-i3 processor running at 2.2ghz. The core-i3 has three separate cpu units which allows you to multi-task like never before. In previous years computer users have been limited to only one core, which basically means when you do more than one thing you will drastically slow down. However with the i3 all your tasks are evenly divided among the 3 different cores which completely eliminates any slow down. To help the i3 do its job Toshiba has added 4gb of DDR3 Ram.

This laptop also allows for you to burn all types of media, from CDs to DVDs, with the included Supermulti DVD drive.

The explosion of Facebook and other social media websites has caused many manufacturers to include front facing webcams as a standard and we’re happy to say that Toshiba is no different. The advanced webcam also features facial recognition that helps keep your images sharp and your friends happy.

Windows 7 Home premium comes pre-installed on the Satellite L755. If you have yet to upgrade to Windows 7 than buying this laptop will be a real treat. Microsoft’s new Windows is an exceptional piece of software and really revolutionized the operating system as we know it. This satellite is well equipped to allow Windows 7 to perform as smoothly and quickly as it’s intended.

Overall our staff was extremely happy with the Satellite L755. We couldn’t find much to complain about, the construction was definitely sturdy and the L755 was a pleasure to use. We recommend giving it a look if you’re in the market to buy the best computer today.

Chrome Books

Google’s Chrome books are fairly new on the computer scene, but the company is arguably the largest in the business and their product has rightfully caught a lot of buzz.  At first glance the Chrome books could be mistaken for a netbook, but on the inside their everything but.

Google advertises their chrome devices as the fastest on the market and they are certainly not far from it.  From power on to internet surfing takes all of 8 seconds.  As you might have assumed Chrome is the default browser so your webpages open fast and run smooth. Unlike most Windows-based netbooks the Chrome book is designed to receive updates every time you boot your machine that not only keeps it secure but keeps your OS and apps up to date.  These updates also continually increase the speed of your chrome book.  Compare that to standard PC’s that slowly bog down over time.  A welcome change.

The Chrome books are specifically designed for staying connected and to do this they are loaded with both a WiFi and 3G card.  You can go from your house, to your car, to the park and still be surfing the web.  That’s freedom.  Chrome books even come with 100MB of free 3g data every month for two years.  To go along with the suburb connectivity your Chrome book will store the majority of your data in the cloud.  You no longer have to worry about losing your computer and all your data, you can easily pick up another affordable chrome device and get right back to work.

Google has designed their OS from the ground up to battle unwanted attackers.  You will no longer have to worry about viruses, malware, spyware, or any other malevolent applications.  Your chrome book utilizes on-going in-depth protection that is rock solid.

Currently Chrome books are manufactured by Samsung and Acer, both trusted brands that provide a quality reliable product.  You typically will find them in white, black, and silver colors.

If you’re a typical consumer and want a quick computer to browse the net, look at some pictures, and Facebook then Chrome books are perfect.  I highly recommend you  consider buying one, if not for your main pc, then for the couch to browse while you watch tv.  It’s perfect for that.

New Mac Pro 2011

The new Mac Pro in 2011 continues Apple’s tradition of state-of-the-art high performing computer products.

This year’s refresh gives the new mac pro a quad-core i7 processor and thunderbolt technology.  The thunderbolt port acts like a USB port, but much faster.  You can use it to connect things like monitors, printers, and hard drives.  Also this year Apple has included a HD Facetime camera which will allow you chat face to face with family and friends.  Apple’s Facetime supports most of their devices including the iPad, iPhone, and their desktops.

The included quad-core i7 is clocked at 2.2ghz and also comes with Intel’s turboboost technology, which will dynamically increase your professor’s performance based on your activities. Having a quad-core processor allows the user to experience multi-tasking like never before.  Have several programs open at one time will not slow down your computer anymore.

Like the previous years the new mac pro is crafted out of a single aluminium body, that provides a strong, thin chassis.  The 15.4″ screen fits elegantly within and gives the user  a high-def experience that is unrivaled.

Inside the new mac pro is dual graphics technology which helps conserve battery.  When your just surfing the net and doing light tasks the mac takes advantage of the integrated Intel graphics.  However if your gaming or watching high def videos the new mac pro will automatically switch to the  AMD Radeon HD 6750M.  With this kind of technology you can expect up to 7 hours of battery life.

Another feature that Apple has pioneered with their laptops is the buttonless glass trackpad.  The multi-touch technology allows you to control your laptop without the use of right and left buttons as typically found on your standard laptop.  The extra space by forgoing these buttons gives the user an extra-large track pad, which makes for a more comfortable experience.

Apple also includes their latest operating system OS X Lion.  Which comes loaded with new features including:

  • Mission Control provides a bird’s-eye view of everything running on your Mac.
  • Launchpad puts all your apps front and center for easy access.
  • View apps full screen and switch between them with a swipe.
  • Interact with your Mac using intuitive new Multi-Touch gestures.
Apple also includes iLife in the new mac pro, which allows you to take control of your  music, movies, and photos like you never have before.  With iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand editing will be a breeze.
To finish it all off the new mac pro has 500gb of built-in hard drive space and 4gb of RAM.
Apple also includes 90-days of phone support and a 1 year limited warranty.  As with most manufacturers you can upgrade to an extended warranty which will push it up to 3-years.

HP DV6 Review

Today’s HP DV6 Review is a real treat.  Very rarely do I find a notebook that I’m 100% happy with, but that happened with this mobile workhorse from HP.

The DV6 features HP’s CoolSense technology, which automatically senses where your using the laptop and adjust the heat accordingly.  To do this it has several motion sensing devices built-in along with various vents and fans.  No more overheating laptops or burnt legs with this baby.

If your someone who likes to sync devices to your laptop then you’ll be happy to know that the built-in bluetooth works well.  I was able to sync and print with no problems.

As far as speed goes the DV6 comes with Intel’s Core-i5 chip with turbo boost up to 3ghz along with 4gb of RAM.  That kind of power should be more than enough for an everyday user.  The hard drive is also ample in size at 640GB.

I’ll assume since your reading a laptop review your interested in its wi-fi capabilities.  The DV6 has a built-in 802.11b/g/n WLAN card that performs wonderfully.  I never lost connection during my test, even while roaming through the house.

A built-in webcam and microphone is also included and should handle all of your social needs with ease.

The DV6 also comes loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium to ensure you have the best experience possible.

When you include all those features along with a DVD burner and media card reader you have a great all around laptop.  At its current price I highly recommend making it the next computer in your household.

Touchsmart 310 Review

The HP Touchsmart 310 is an all-in-one desktop computer.  As the name suggest it features a touchscreen monitor that proves to be just as fun as it is useful.  The touch capabilities are exceptionally useful when it comes to browsing and editing photos, surfing the web, or moving through your music.

The Touchsmart 310 is also an all-inclusive desktop, meaning the monitor is built right into the tower.  The advantage of this is being able to avoid all the cable clutter and loss of desk space.  All-in-one computers are definitely the wave of the future so you’ll be prepared with the Touchsmart 310.

The touchscreen monitor is a high quality 20″ widescreen panel.  The monitor provides crystal clear text, images, and movies.  I was highly pleased.

Inside the Touchsmart 310 is a DVD burner, built-in webcam and microphone, and a wireless internet card.  It also comes with 1 Tb of hard drive space and a built-in media card reader for either more storage or use with your digital cameras.  Finally, the TouchSmart 310 comes with both a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

In conclusion, at Amazon’s price the HP Touchsmart 310 is an exception deal and if you’re in the market for a new computer I would strongly recommend considering the Touchsmart as your next purchase.

Acer Iconia Tablet Review

If you’re in the market for a new computer a tablet may be the right choice for you.  Over the past few years tablets have become huge, growing at a faster pace than laptops ever did.

The Acer Iconia tablet is fresh to the market and looks to challenge the iPad and Samsung Galaxy.  Acer has been around for quite some time and gained popularity with their recent netbook releases.  They are known for quality and service.

The Iconia tablet comes pre-loaded with Android’s Honeycomb operating system; a proven winner.  Inside is 1gb of ram and 16gb of hard drive space.  The processor is also fast clocking in at 1 ghz, exceptionally speedy for a tablet.

Social media is booming right now and if you love posting pictures then you’ll love the Iconia tablet.  Included are both front facing and rear cameras that will allow you to capture any moment and post it to Facebook.  Having two cameras is certainly special, not many tablets can say that.

Price wise the Iconia Tablet also wins.  The 16gb Iconia is over $150 less than a comparable iPad.

I rate the Iconia tablet a 9 out of 10, it’s quickly became the go to device in my home and I’m sure it will in yours!
